Amsterdam pics
So Brian and Clara were in Rome for a couple months for study abroad, then they traveled around Europe for a few weeks. So me and mom went to pick them up in Amsterdam. I love Amsterdam. Here are a few pics. Please forgive the nudity. :)
See? I don't really know why they are naked in a tulip field, but I just couldn't help myself from being photographed with them...

The woman in white gloves
Apparently people in my life want me to be tan. Yesterday I was at home in Utah and Christine offered to give me a free pass to one of those spray on tanning places. This is not the first, nor likely the last, time in my life, in which people have tried to tan me. Despite my memory of the Friends episode where Ross goes to one of these places and it goes horribly awry, I thought it sounded like a better alternative to furthering skin cancer and less likely to give me blotches. Ha! So Christine, the helpful cousin that she is, gave me plastic shopping bags for my feet, and rubber gloves for my hands, to prevent these parts from getting orange. And I trusted her. I followed instructions, and it went alright I thought. Until this morning, when I was getting off my red-eye flight. It had finally had a chance to set in. I looked at my hands in the harsh cabin-light. Orangey-tan down to my wrist. A definite line, then very, very white hands. Remember Michael Jackson with the glove, back in the day?? I also have some splotches on my legs and arms. So I think I need to wear pants and a long sleeve shirt. Which sort of defeats the purpose of the whole tanning idea. Some fake things are very bad, and I think that tanning is one of them. So I think that after this, I am going to sun a little in the summer, but pretty much embrace my natural color.

Cousin Pictures!
So Brianne and her new hubby Brent and Allina and Riley and I and Allina's old bikini (you can actually see it in these pictures) gathered in Utah for a weekend. We had a lot of fun, and tried to do all our favorite things in Utah in one weekend. Everyone wondered why we were going everywhere all the time and eating out all the time. And even though Utah may not have as much to offer by the way of culture, there is the SL Roasting Company, Cafe Rio, Sil's Cafe, Jake's Shakes, Grandma's hot tub (that WASN'T so hot), campfires, good Japanese restaurants, and family.
And if anyone gets mad at me about how they look in the pics I have posted here, just remember how I actually look in this pink bikini!
i hate generic
i was so happy to get back to new york today and see a man with dredlocks standing on the subway platform. this is one of the many joys of life in the city.

so so so so tired
so now i am back in utah for the weekend. i am starting to feel like a normal person again. but wow it was a couple of CRAZY days. my eyes were red and had a burning feeling for about 2 days and i was starting to wonder if maybe i had some sort of eye disease. i think the disease was just lack of sleep.
i get another flight to paris. it is my line this summer-fantastic. i REALLY need to learn french. d'arcy finally got to come on a trip with me and see a pretty place. laura got put on my trip and we finally got to work together. i slept for 2 hours and we went out. we went lots of places. we took a boat ride-i love boats. i especially likes this really cute street that was not touristy at all. it was like fifth avenue in new york, only better. it had all these fantastic window displays with beautiful clothes. for some reason i really loved all the fur pieces.
then we went to dinner with laura at this delicious place called la terrase. we made laura go on the metro and everything. the best french onion soup-mmmm. then we walked around on the champs elysee.

How tall is tall ENOUGH?
I'm a tall girl. Six feet tall to be exact. So when I specifically state, in certain, shall we say, dating venues, that I would like to date a tall guy, I personally would assume it might be at least the same height as me. You know, someone who if we were both barefoot and in love, could look into one another's eyes with a sort of equally stupid kind of stare. But apparently the five foot ten-ers are taking this as a dare. Tall, they say? I'm not SHORT! And the idea of me looking down into their eyes, maybe one of them, resting their heads on my shoulder during a romantic dance, is somewhat enticing. Maybe it sounds like a nice idea to them. Maybe I'm being too picky. Maybe I should take what I can get. After all, my twenties are nearly over and yesterday I found a new wrinkle under my eye! It was a bit traumatic. Things are only going to go downhill from here. But somehow I just can't shake the idea that I would like a slightly taller guy. So maybe I should be more specific. Six feet or taller please.

It's a minibar miracle!
I have a problem. A yogurt problem. So I'm in Paris, and it's not like I never go to Paris. It's the fourth time in a month I'm in Paris. But somehow I still think that I need to stock up on the good yogurt. Plus I also bought some for D'Arcy, so I'm not completely ridiculous, but pretty close. Anyway, I bought 12 yogurts, and have just shoved them into an already stocked minibar. I am amazing. Crap! I just forgot about the cheese I bought. I have no idea where that is going to go...
