in case you were wondering

Each US househould pays $138 a month to fund the war in Iraq. Wow. Good to know where my money is going. Soldiers in Iraq make about $40,000, while the contractors make $400,000. That makes perfect sense. Grrrr...

Grrr...

when i said i wanted to work today, i meant i wanted to WORK. Not get up before 7 am, put on a dirty uniform, and come to the crew room and sit airport alert, where they may or may not use me. By now I really don't want to go anywhere anyway. Now that I am here, I want to sleep, surf the internet, and maybe watch the Bourne Ultimatum I have been meaning to watch for 2 weeks from Netflix.

Persepolis

I saw Persepolis the other night. LOVED it. Go see it. Or read it first.

some people are classy

yesterday when we were on final approach, one of my fabulous flight attendant friends made me look at the guy in 26C. You know why? He was looking at porn. Casually looking at porn, in the aisle seat of the airplane. With a woman in the window seat. I actually think they were traveling together. What a pervert. Then when it was time to leave, he had the courtesy of leaving the magazine for us. How thoughtful. Guess what else he left? An entire bottle of soy sauce. SOY SAUCE. How on earth did they get through with a bottle of soy sauce? I can't even get through with my toothpaste without getting felt up and these people get through with large condiments!!!

Brainstorming

I am kind of freaking out about all the airline merger talks, because if it happens, I would probably lose my job, eventually. And then I would need a new career. Sure, I could always go back to social work, but I don't think I really want to. Any ideas for ANOTHER career for me? Something that preferably doesn't involve major office hours, could involve travel and keeps me in New York. Hmmm....
